Update Claystation

Post by miplatt »

A Computer that I believe was running 9.0.33 was asked to perform autoupdate. When the autoupdate did not work, the user decided to download claystation using http://www.digital-clay.com/resources/D ... nstall.exe. Now it is running 9.1.80 and asking to autoupdate. Following the update process, when trying to log in, the system gives an error that it is incompatible with the database.

How can we get this computer back on track with the rest of us--we are on 9.0.33. Suggestions?

Yes, usually you cannot downgrade a major version due to database incompatibility. When installing manually you should always download the appropriate version. http://download.digital-clay.com/

Note that if we are talking about the server/ClayCentral database then the only solution would be to restore from a backup. Also in the case of ClayOutlook plugin there is data in the offline database that cannot be recreated. But if you are dealing with ClayStation or ClayIntegrator, then you can simply delete/rename the offline database and it will resynchronize from scratch on first login, and the only thing you will lose is inactive records in the offline database.

To do this for ClayStation, simply rename the C:\DigitalClay\ClayStation\ folder and start ClayStation. First login will take a while.
