Several users have been reporting a phenomenon over the past few weeks/months:
A user begins typing letters of a record name in the filter box in an effort to locate a particular record. Under normal circumstances, if the record already exists, then it will appear among the filter results based on the algorithms of the search.
Sometimes the existing record does not appear, allowing the user to think that it does not exist in the database. However, if the user searches again a few minutes later, it does come up.
I personally have not been able to witness the problem so it is hard to give you any more details or data. Nevertheless, perhaps you have suggestions for (a) what might be the issue that these users are facing and (b) what might solve the problem.
Assuming the user entered the letters properly (which could be a false assumption but as of yet I have not way to document it), I was thinking it maybe has to do with the speed with which they type or some kind of delay between a user's computer and the server.
Any thoughts?

Re: Existing Records Not Always Coming Up in Filter Search
I am not sure what exactly you are talking about when you say you are typing to search. I could think of at least three possibilities: Typing the search box under a list of filter values. Typing in the filter values list itself. Typing in the search results in the main list. Also I am not sure what you mean when you say that the record appears/doesn't appear: Appears in the filter values box or in the search results or that it scrolls/doesn't scroll to the correct record?
Re: Existing Records Not Always Coming Up in Filter Search
"Typing to search" = Typing in the search box under filter values.
"Record doesn't appear" = I mean it does not appear in the filter values box (and therefore obviously does not appear in the search results).

Re: Existing Records Not Always Coming Up in Filter Search
I assume we are talking about a list of records or a list of records in a linked field displayed in the filter value list. In which case there are some details that may help you:
- This list of values ONLY show active records (i.e. the status/active field in these records must be checked). So some records may not appear because of this
- The list of values is limited in their amount, by the setting: "Maximum results for drop-down lists" under Administration/ClayCentral Settings/Database
- Make sure it isn't already checked in the filter values in which case it may appear above the unchecked values.
If none of these are helpful then I think we will need a step-by-step description to reproduce the issue. The speed of typing may or may not be the cause but I cannot reproduce this issue.
