Occasionally, people request that their email addresses be removed from our mailing list and that they not receive "mass mailings" from our office.
How would you suggest implementing this?
I was thinking perhaps it would be ideal to make some kind of automation that would run during mailings and somehow check each address as it comes up to make sure that it is not one of these people.
Ideas?

Re: Remove from Mailing List
Well the obvious and simplest option is to add a custom field 'Opt-Out' to the recipient table and check this field manually when they ask to be removed. Then, before sending future emails, filter out anyone who has this field checked.
To automate this is a bit more complex but we have several customers who are doing it. It involves adding an unsubscribe URL link to the bottom of each email you send with a unique ID, a web page that receives this unsubscribe request if the user clicks on it, which modifies the Opt-Out field using http://digital-clay.com/support/wiki/do ... _injection. To go into implementation details is obviously beyond the scope of the forum.
