Cursor In Dashboard

Post by miplatt »

Currently, when we open a dashboard that contacts a filter box, we must then click in the filter search area (make it active) in order to enter criteria.

Is there a way for the cursor to appear there in the filter box automatically when the dashboard opens?

Dashboards pretty much do that already. So perhaps we aren't understanding each other. Please provide more detail. For starters, what kind of filter are talking about? There obviously is no such thing as a 'cursor' in the filter box but it does open up an input box if the first filter is of type text, etc.

Under the box where the "filter values" appear, there is a small input box through which the user can locate his desired item more effectively.

For example, if the filter is for countries, country names will appear in the filter values box. The user can then type in the small input box (line) below it the first few letters of the desired country in order to locate it faster in the filter values list.

When the user opens the dashboard, he must then click in that input box in order to enter text.

We are curious if there is a way to be able to enter text for searching the filter values as soon as the dashboard is open, without having to click in that small input box.

OK you are talking about the search box under the filter values. This is, essentially, a filter for the filters.

Since this is a secondary function of the filter window and the primary function is to actually enter a filter value, it would not make sense to shift the focus automatically to a secondary location, sorry.
