Use the Columns button on the right-hand side of the list.
If the list is saved in your toolbar or in a tab, etc. then you have to open the list in edit mode. E.g. if the list is in your toolbar, you have to go to Tools/Customize, select the list from the item listbox, and click on the Edit button, remove the column, then click on OK to save your toolbar.
