HTML Form: Ability to save and continue?

Post by miplatt »

We have an html form for entering, saving and viewing information. To save, it appears that the options are limited to clicking ok (which closes the window), clicking the upper left x (which asks if want to save changes and then closes) and clicking on another tab (which asks if want to save changes and then moves to that tab).

What about if someone makes a change and wants to stay with the same screen (the html form)? In other words, if one does not want to close the window and one does not want to go to another tab.

I'll enable the save button for HTML form tabs for the next 9alpha version.

How often do these new versions come out? We must reinstall each new version on every computer, correct?

In the html form, is there a way to change a field currently made as a text field to become a notes field instead? We are finding that on many occasions we need more space for entering the data.

'HTML forms' is a brand new feature and only exists currently in the 9alpha which is a development version.

As you probably noticed, there are many builds/releases for the 9alpha but this also means that there are no automatic updates. When version 9 officially comes out, every version can be downloaded and installed automatically on every computer just like the 8.x versions.

As for changing the text field: You can increase the size up to 255 characters using the ClayStudio Custom Fields tool. If you need more than that then you need to add a new Notes field and the HTML form will need to be changed to use this field and display a textarea instead. Contact your Digital-Clay representative if you don't know how to do this.
