Hi,
I created an analysis in a table view and would like to be able to drill into a specific value(one cell) that appears in the table but the only result i am able to receive is for the whole row i click on not the specific cell.
i will email you the analysis.
any suggestions/solutions?
thanks,
Tani

Re: Assisting with drilling into analysis
There are about 5 types of drill-downs in the menu, most of which ARE cell-specific. Please describe in more detail what drill-down you are using and what you want to achieve.
P.S. You can attach files in this forum in the 'Upload Attachment' tab next to the Options. It's easy to miss it.
[Edit] I changed the forum to allow digital-clay file extensions attachments.

right click on the cell, drill into..... and then i choose the field i want to use to drill into with.
in this case Family: JAFI - Procedural Status
about the attachment, saw it, tried it doesn't accept clay files.
look for a bug report option for the bug reporting but didn't see it...

Re: Assisting with drilling into analysis
What you have to understand is that each cell may have an indicator value as well as several underlying dimension values. For example, when you click on '5000', you may be clicking on '5000 for 2008 by UserX'. This is why there are several drill-down options.
The Drill Into... menu options drill into dimensions, not indicators. Depending on your query and how it is displayed, there may be two dimensions in a cell, and if displayed 'horizontally', each cell in a row will have a different dimension. To avoid confusion, the menu you are clicking on tells you what you are drilling into (e.g. "Drill Into UserX by").
So it IS drilling into the cell. It may help if you explain what result you expect.
I can guess that you are expecting the indicator you clicked on to be isolated, but this would mean removing all the other indicators and this can severely alter the query/graph as you can imagine, it can also change table calculations, all of which would confuse people, not to mention that it can kill indicator post-aggregate custom functions unless I disable it for functions, etc.
I could maybe add a separate 'indicator' drill-down that says e.g. 'Drill into Amount of Contacts' but then this would be confusing since there may be several dimensions... which dimension is it drilling into?
P.S. The forum now accepts Clay file extensions.

Re: Assisting with drilling into analysis
I've thought about this some more and we could maybe add a new drill-down in 9.0 that says "drill into [indicator] by..." which would add all of the dimensions as filters, remove other indicators, and allow you to specify a new dimension. I don't know if this would help you though since I don't know what it is exactly you expected would happen.
Re: Assisting with drilling into analysis
sounds like that would be helpful to me.
in the meantime i have found a work around with Moshe.
thanks.
