How can I hide/delete the built-in field 'Name' from a form?

Hi,
How can I hide/delete the built-in field 'Name' from a form?
Every time I add a custom table the field 'Name' is automatically added. In some cases I don't need the field.
What can I do?

The Name field is a system field and therefore can't be deleted. The Name field value is shown in linked-field drop-downs and in filter values when displaying records. It is therefore displayed by default on the default tab for Custom Tables.

You can, however, add a custom tab in Custom Layouts that displays any fields you want, and then hide the default tab that contains the Name field.
