Is the password encrypted in the lan?

Users are authenticated using a challenge-response protocol so this means that passwords are only sent when adding new users or changing passwords. And even then, the passwords are securely encrypted against attacks. See http://digital-clay.com/support/wiki/do ... d/security for more security details.
