GoogleSpell

Post by miplatt »

Since the beginning of our use of Clay we have had a URL tab in which a particular notes field can be checked for spelling errors using googlespell (in C:/DigitalClay/Addons).

Recently, when trying to use this function, we have received a error (see attached photo).

Any ideas why all of a sudden this would not be working? We are not sure about how long it has not been working. Suggestions?

In case you would want to see the Html file, it is the same one as what I sent previously in another post to the forum...

Well this is not really our domain but I looked into it quickly and found that Google spell had gone down a while back:

https://productforums.google.com/forum/ ... Pb0PYllbE8
etc.

You need a new spell checker. Perhaps another javascript alternative like:
http://www.javascriptspellcheck.com/
http://www.chrisfinke.com/2011/03/31/an ... lchecking/
http://code.google.com/p/bjspell/

One would need to incorporate it into your HTML addon with some development work of course.

An alternative is server-side php spell checkers but you would need php and a web server for that.

OR, perhaps an IE addon would work nicely, like:
