We would like to allow an outside subcontractor to access information in Clay remotely without gaining access to our entire server.
My first thought was to install Clay on his machine, connect it to the server, let the program synchronize and then from then on let him work "offline" and eliminate his ability to connect to the server.
It would be better not to have to connect him at all ever to the server however.
Is there an easier/preferable way? Send him a data file?
Any other ideas?

Re: Access to Database without Access
What is the problem exactly with the initial access, or even with constant access? Don't forget you can set up a user with restricted permissions so he can only see one or two tables without being able to change anything.
Of course you can send him the whole database (mdb file or sql backup) but then he has access to everything and he has to figure out a way to load and browse through the data as well.
The simplest alternative is to export the tables you need to excel using clay and then send the excels only.
You can also give him access via Web ClayStation if the client is the problem. This may help by giving him access to a web server via a web browser, instead of directly to the main server. The web server would have to connect to the main server though.
