Email Subject Line
Email Subject Line
Is there a way to use a Hebrew (or other language for that matter) subject line for sending email in Digital Clay if the interface language is English.
For example, if we are sending a Hebrew email and would like to use a Hebrew subject line. To date, entering a Hebrew subject line results in gibberish (symbols) appearing and not the words. Thus we must use an English subject line which looks bizarre when the email itself is in English.

Re: Email Subject Line
I can successfully send a Hebrew email subject line even though the Clay interface is in English.
Make sure your Windows Regional setting: "Language for non-Unicode Programs" is set to Hebrew (in the Regional Settings control panel).
Perhaps the e-mail program used to read the e-mail has a problem with the format? Try another client.

Regional setting is set to Hebrew
I successfully sent a Hebrew subject from Clay to a Gmail account. Thus, it may be a problem with the client.
The office uses MS Outlook and Hebrew is set as the default international encoding font. What could be the problem with Outlook?
This occurs both for Outlook 2003 & 2010. Perhaps there is a setting to change?

Re: Email Subject Line
Note that there is a difference between the general language Regional Setting, and the setting "Language for non-Unicode Programs"
I tested with Outlook 2003 and the subject line appears in Hebrew just fine. I have no idea what may be wrong with your Outlook/Windows, sorry.

Re: Email Subject Line
Yes, I know. Hebrew is set as Language for non-Unicode Programs.
Very bizarre, especially because emails coming from everywhere else with Hebrew subject lines and text seem to work, whereas from Clay we only see gibberish.

Re: Email Subject Line
Although Hebrew is set as the Language for Non-Unicode Programs and Hebrew is checked off in the list, I notice that the 20424 IBM EBCDIC - Hebrew is not checked off. Does Clay require this?

Re: Email Subject Line
Does it work if the Clay interface is in Hebrew?
I tested two machines with Outlook and they both received the emails fine, plus other email clients work as well.
Perhaps you should check the Regional Settings in both machines, Clay & Outlook client, and see if anything makes a difference. The important one is the Clay machine obviously.
And no, the codepage conversion list is not relevant.
By the way, what specific feature are you using in clay to send the e-mail?

Re: Email Subject Line
Interestingly enough, if the clay interface is in Hebrew, the subject line appears as gibberish also!!!

Re: Email Subject Line
What about my other questions/suggestions?
Re: Email Subject Line
For both the server on which ClayCentral sits and my computer, the Windows Regional setting: "Language for non-Unicode Programs" is set to Hebrew. Gibberish still appears.
Very bizarre.
