Clay Central Service Not Started

We came into the office today (30/1/2011)and found that the Clay Central service was not running. It is not clear to us why that is.

Do you have any thoughts based on the content of the Clay Central Log:

I would reinstall to fix the missing dll issue.

And I would try rebooting to make sure there are no instabilities with the database engine and/or memory issues.

If there are still any issues after this, let me know.

On the server, we ran the most recent DigitalClayInstall. It asked us to customize, repair or uninstall. We chose repair. It then said it would do setup of type "clients" (there were no other options) in the usual digital clay folder, etc. Then we rebooted the computer.

Upon restarting, the ClayCentral service once again did not start automatically so we needed to go in and start it.

wuw4.dll still does not appear in the WINDOWS/system32 folder. Does this need to be downloaded from somewhere on its own?

Uninstall and reinstall.

After a power outage and reboot of the server, the ClayCentral service was reported as started.

However, no one was able to connect to it.(left us hanging)

Is the ClayCentral.exe process running on the server?

Did you uninstall/reinstall?

Can you connect to ClayCentral locally using ClayStudio on the server machine?

Last week when you instructed to uninstall and install, we did it and the wuw4.dll was restored and remains in the system32 folder.

Yesterday, yes the ClayCentral process was running and yet we could not connect. Also from the server machine.

When we rebooted and started the service again, it worked.

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps the IP changed? Or the server networking was down? Or a firewall issue. Either way it seems to have been a temporary issue with the server machine and it obviously sorted itself out. Let me know if the problem re-occurs and whether you discover any more clues.
