I may have asked this question previously.

Is it possible to send email through Digital Clay with a PDF document as the body? Currently, we are able to do HTML docs. I tried to make an html with the pdf embedded but it does not seem to work.

Suggestions?

E-Mail only supports HTML as the 'body'. All other formats like Word and PDF are sent as e-mail attachments not as the body. It has nothing to do with Clay.

Regarding PDF specifically, Clay only supports generating PDF documents if you have Word 2010 installed and up.

How about using HTML to embed a PDF document uploaded onto a website in the body? The html file itself does this properly when opened using Internet Explorer. However, when sent via Clay it is blank. Any ideas?

I think I know what you mean about PDFs embedded inside HTMLs...but I don't think I ever saw this used successfully in e-mails. Since many of the e-mail clients won't be able to view this. Correct me if I'm wrong? Have you successfully sent an embedded PDF and viewed it in Outlook/gmail/Thunderbird/hotmail etc?

In addition to the potential issue mentioned above, even if it does work in most major email clients, there is no guarantee that they have a PDF reader plugin installed in their email client or browser. In which case I am guessing they won't be able to view the email.

Because of these reasons I don't see this feature being implemented. Especially since a PDF body doesn't add anything over an HTML email body as far as I can see...

Agreed. We have not successfully embedded PDF in Outlook. Would be nice someday.
