In ClayCentral settings you can change the system currency.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer,

But if i understand - if we changing the system currency it change all the currency to one type.

We want to be able to use "shekel" & "dollar" simultaneously, some places "Shekel" and other place "$' etc.

is it posobile?

Thanks,

Malky.

We don't provide specific built-in features for multiple currencies yet, but you can support multiple currencies using generic features and we have done so several times with other customers. For example, use a custom table for currency rates, a linked field or lookup list for selecting a currency, an automation rule for finding/converting currency rates, and of course a numeric field or a calculated field for fields in another currency. Each implementation is different because of specific customer requirements but this is the basic approach we use.

What does 'not clear' mean exactly?

When you post in the forum, you have an "Upload Attachment" tab underneath.

The Euro symbol poses a special problem with non-Unicode systems because it was introduced later and it was crammed into the standard character set (at char 128) as a patch. What this means is that In non-unicode systems, it will only display as the Euro sign if your default Windows codepage is relevant.

I.e. to make it appear properly in Digital-Clay, go to the Regional Settings/Advanced/Language for non-Unicode programs and select an English-speaking/Latin/European country. If you do this however, the shekel symbol may not appear correctly, and you won't have support for Hebrew.

Hi,

I'm tring to work with a table for currncy symble.

I'm having some problems:

I created a table for the "currncies"
We are having a group table and a customer table, that are linked together (via the group).
For each of thoese tables I created a customet field "currncy symble" that linked to the "currncy" table.
I made an automation that when we are having a new customer that we didn't selected to him a "currncy simble" so he will get the "currncy symble" from the "group" table.
I want to do an automation that when we are selecting (either for the first time or chanching) a "currncy symble" for a group the field "currncy symble" in the "customer" table will change to it.

How do I do that?

Thanks,

Malky.

It depends on how the Group and Customer tables are linked. If the linked field is in the Group, then you have a problem because there may be many Groups per Customer and the Automation will only take the first Group:Currency it finds.

Assuming the linked field is in the Customer, and you want to copy the Currency from Group to Customer, then you need two automation handlers:

1. On Customer add/change, filter on Customer:Currency=None and Group:Currency isn't None, Set Linked Field action: OwnTable:Currency=Group:Currency

2. For the reverse when a Group currency is set, there's a challenge in that you only want to set the linked Customers with no currency whereas there may be some with a currency and some without. I would split this into two automations: In the first, you detect when a Group has its currency set using filters, and then you would change any dummy field in all of its linked Customers. This, in turn would trigger event handler #1 which would set the Customer:Currency as needed per Customer.

I hope this helped. Obviously I can't go into even more detail than this but if you need more help, feel free to talk to your Digital-Clay representative about either integration work or training.
