When to check the Unicode checkbox?
When to check the Unicode checkbox?
Sorry, for the question, I am not a programmer, but when adding a custom field when does the Unicode checkbox need to be marked?

Re: When to check the Unicode checkbox?
First of all, the Unicode checkbox has no effect when you are using an MDB database.
With SQL Server, unchecking this setting can save space when you don't need to enter text in this field in any language except English. This is because Unicode takes twice as much space (e.g. if your text field's length is 50, the actual space taken in the database is 100).
In order to support non-English languages in your field, you must leave the Unicode setting checked.
