Whenever we open an internet link through Digital Clay, the system automatically opens it in Internet Explorer.
Is there a way to have it open other browsers instead? In the past, this was not possible.

This is a Windows configuration issue. The other browser needs to the default browser set for the HTTP protocol in Windows.

Ok, we can check on this. Would it be related only to the server hosting the database or the user computers as well?
And the fact that the website is opened from within a customized html tab within clay should not influence this, correct? Just making sure.

This is per user computer.
I checked regarding the embedded browser/html tab and to my surprise Internet Explorer seems to control which browser opens it and there's nothing one can do about that except perhaps some advanced windows shell programming from inside the html page. Typical of Microsoft. If you can get Clay to open it somehow instead of the embedded html page then it should work. For example by using a URL attachment/field and clicking on that.
In other words the problem is that the embedded Windows browser is opening the link, not Clay.

I had a feeling you were going to say that. In that case, assuming Internet Explorer will continue to be summoned for this, should we be worried that soon IE may not be supported/continued? Some people have been receiving alerts recently that they should stop using IE because it will be discontinued. Should we be concerned?

I'm not concerned. For starters, this is a Windows component that launches the MS engine used by Internet Explorer, it is not IE itself, and it is built into Windows for ages now. There are tons of programs that make use of it, and possibly even some internal Windows apps. Eventually Clay may probably provide more flexibility with this but for now it's the only component that we can rely on to exist in 100% of Windows machines.
