Can you update a many to many linked field in an automation?

I am having a problem and can't figure out if I am doing something wrong.

If an attachment has no type, digital clay does not know what to do with it and does not do anything.

There is no message or anything.

What can be done?

1) If I add a linked field in a table and then I add a column from that linked table to a list of info from the first table, how do I see info from the first table even if there is no record in the second table.

2) When I create a linked field, new custom links with default Link Groups are created ...

Just wanted to know is there a way to filter with multiple values in Digital Clay, e.g. I wish to know Contacts who within their employment notes it is written that they know BOTH SQL and ASP?
